1. Appearance inspection

Diamond grinding wheels should not make mute sounds when knocked. The judgment method often adopts the method of listening, that is, by knocking the grinding wheel, if a mute sound is made, it means that there may be hidden cracks inside the grinding wheel or between the diamond layer and the transition layer, and between the pressing layer and the substrate.

The edge damage of the grinding wheel can be measured along the periphery, height and diameter direction by using a square ruler and a vernier ruler. Grinding wheels with strict shape requirements are not allowed to have edge damage; for general abrasives with loose shape requirements, the maximum length of each edge drop shall not exceed 1/60 of the circumference, for grinding wheels with a thickness of no more than 10mm, the total length of the edge drop shall not exceed 1/15 of the circumference, and for grinding wheels with a thickness of more than 10mm, the total length of the edge drop shall not exceed 1/10 of the circumference.

2. Dynamic balance inspection

When the grinding wheel rotates at high speed, if the center of gravity of the grinding wheel deviates too much from the center, it will generate a large centrifugal force, which will cause the vibration of the grinder, reduce the quality of the processed product, and reduce the life of the grinding wheel. For some thicker grinding wheels, static balance is sometimes qualified, but dynamic imbalance may occur. Therefore, for thicker, larger diameter and combined diamond grinding wheels, dynamic balance inspection must be carried out; the dynamic balance inspection of the grinding wheel is generally carried out on a special dynamic balancing machine. After the unbalanced part and amount of the grinding wheel are measured by the dynamic balancing machine, the drilling weight method or the weighting method can be used for correction, but the drilling holes shall not exceed three places at most.

3. Geometric dimension inspection

The outer diameter, thickness, aperture, thickness and width of the diamond grinding wheel, the angle and arc of various special-shaped grinding wheels, and the geometric tolerance of the diamond grinding wheel must be inspected; the outer diameter, thickness, aperture, thickness and width of the diamond grinding wheel are measured with a vernier caliper with an accuracy of 0.02mm, and the aperture is also measured with a plug gauge, an inner diameter gauge or an inner diameter micrometer.
