How to choose the saw blade suitable for your plate for precision sliding table saw

First of all, in terms of saw blade specifications

1. Large saw blade:

The large saw blade of precision sliding table saw is mostly 300mm in outer diameter*30mm in inner hole, and the tooth type is usually left and right teeth, trapezoidal flat teeth, etc.

2. Small saw blade (marking saw):

The small saw blade that matches the large saw blade is usually 120mm in outer diameter, but the small saw blade is divided into single-marking and double-marking. As the name implies, the single-marking is a single saw blade with trapezoidal teeth. The marking width is adjusted by adjusting the height of the auxiliary saw blade shaft. The double-marking is two blades together with flat teeth. The marking width is adjusted by adding or removing gaskets in the middle. It is worth noting that the inner hole of the auxiliary saw blade is also divided into 20mm and 22mm. When choosing, you must pay attention to which aperture your equipment uses. Most of the choices for small saw blades are single-marking, because it is more convenient to adjust and more economical, but when your board is deformed and uneven in the middle, try to choose double-marking, so that there will not be too large steps due to too deep marking depth.

Secondly, about the tooth type selection

Wood boards are generally divided into veneer boards and non-veneer boards according to the saw blade cutting method.

1. Veneer boards:

Veneer boards refer to boards with veneers on both the upper and lower sides. The tooth type of large saw blades for cutting such boards mostly chooses ladder-flat teeth to increase the smoothness of the cut surface and effectively solve the problem of edge bursting.

2. Non-veneer boards:

Non-veneer boards are different from veneer boards, that is, the boards have no veneers on the upper and lower sides. Most of these boards are solid wood materials. Saw blades usually use left and right teeth for cutting, because solid wood has rich fibers, and the left and right teeth are sharper, so the cutting effect is better and easier.

Finally, how should the number of saw blade teeth be selected?

1. The size and thickness of the material determine the thickness and number of teeth of the alloy saw blade. If the material is thin, the saw blade should be thin and have more teeth to avoid material deformation and burrs; if the material is thick, the saw blade should be thick and have fewer teeth to facilitate chip removal and avoid saw blade deflection, sticking teeth, and broken teeth. Reasonable saw blade thickness and number of teeth should be selected according to the thickness of the material being cut and the cutting requirements.

2. The more teeth, the smoother the cutting surface, but the greater the resistance to push. On the contrary, the fewer teeth, the rougher the cutting surface, and the easier and more labor-saving it is to push.

In most cases, veneer boards will choose 96 teeth, the cutting surface is smooth, and cutting will not be too laborious; non-veneer boards (solid wood) will choose 72 teeth and 60 teeth, and 100 teeth or 120 teeth will be used for fine cutting.
